This piece is made with derelict fishing gear, salvaged wood, watercolor, and acrylic paint. The painting of the hammerhead with the net running through is meant to spark conversation on the fishing industry and issues affecting shark populations. ~100 million sharks are killed each year, one impact is through bycatch, where species not intended to be fished are caught accidentally in fishing nets.

This pieces both beautiful and haunting. It is 23”x13”1” and can be hung with a nail.
